Historic Meeting Between Prime Minister Dahal and Chinese President Xi

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' of Nepal and Chinese President Xi Jinping held a historic meeting during Dahal's weeklong visit to China. The leaders engaged in open discussions on various bilateral issues of interest during the visit.

Both leaders emphasized the need for shared collaboration among regional forces to promote regional stability, peace, and prosperity. They discussed ways to strengthen mutual collaboration by understanding each other's interests and sensitivities.

President Xi expressed China's readiness to collaborate and cooperate with Nepal for its economic and social development. The meeting included one-on-one discussions and group meetings with delegates. Topics such as mutual respect, support, and peaceful coexistence were on the agenda.

President Xi highlighted China's commitment to fostering equitable relations without discrimination based on territorial size. He stated that the relationship between China and Nepal would reach new heights in the coming days.

Prime Minister Dahal praised the long-standing historical relations between Nepal and China and commended President Xi's innovative approach for regional peace and progress. He reiterated Nepal's commitment to the One China policy and emphasized Nepal's independent and non-aligned foreign policy.

Prime Minister Dahal also mentioned Nepal's support for the Belt and Road Initiative, recognizing its potential to bring significant improvements to Nepal's infrastructure. He expressed confidence that China's development would contribute to the development of the Asian region.

President Xi recalled previous meetings with Prime Minister Dahal and emphasized that such discussions would further deepen bilateral relations and trust between China and Nepal. This meeting marks a significant step in strengthening the ties between the two countries.
